Ideally located in the beautiful South Hams, Seaflowers sits between the coastal towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe. This area is rich in wildlife and unspoiled beaches, with many wonderful places to visit. Situated on the Kingsbridge to Dartmouth coastal road, there are numerous beaches, superb scenic walks, excellent pubs and restaurants, and National Trust properties all within easy reach. The below includes a selection of much-loved favourites to explore.

BEACHES

Lannacombe

A family favourite, Lannacombe is a small sandy beach, with a stream and rock pools. Popular for swimming and surfing, there are also lovely walks along the coast to Mattescombe Beach and Start Point or East Prawle.

East Portlemouth & Mill Bay

Great beaches to sail from/to or enjoy watching the water traffic from. The beach itself is large, sandy and with shallow waters to swim in. It is an easy walk from Sunny Cove, or a longer walk round the coast to Gara Rock.

Torcross & Slapton Sands

Three miles of shingle beaches, very popular for fishing. The crystal-clear waters are inviting for any keen swimmers (or dippers!). Look out for our local seal, Cecilia, who’s often seen along the shore scouting for mackerel.

Water sports

Hire our paddle boards and canoes, or bring your own boat - at high tide you can launch and take yourself to Salcombe, Kingsbridge or even out to sea! The area has numerous places with lessons and kit-hire, including for surfing, motor boating and sailing.

Hiking

Take a scenic walk directly from Frogmore along the creek at low tide or over the nearby fields and lanes. For those seeking adventure, the South West Coast Path is never far away, offering superb hiking. The area is also ideal for exploring Dartmoor.

Yoga

The wonderful Start Bay Studio is a ten-minute drive away, with a range of yoga and wellness classes next to the ocean. Guests can also book massage therapies such as Hot Stone, Swedish and Indian Head Massages, as well as reflexology.
